Day to day activities, which may contribute to muscle tension

I have seen so many clients over the past nine month who suffer from aches and pains.  I feel like its my job to talk to my clients, find out what activities they do in and outside of work to get more details of how they move or don’t move in some cases.  Here is a list of the top TEN reasons why my clients suffer from muscle tension……

  1. Using a computer mouse
  2. Not sitting at a computer desk correctly
  3. Poor Posture
  4. Sleeping in your front with your neck to the side with one arm up
  5. Carrying a heavy bag on your shoulder
  6. Wearing non supportive foot wear
  7. Watching TV, with your legs up and your weight resting on the elbow, which is up on the arm of the chair
  8. Long hours at work without a break in the same position (standing, sitting, driving for long hours
  9. Stress and anxiety – over works the muscles
  10. Manual handling – lifting incorrectly due to speed of job, working fast instead of safely

They are many more activities that we do on a daily basis but If you are guilty of any of these, regular massage can help relieve this and make you feel less tense and stressed.  Exercise is also a great way of de-stressing, strengthening the muscles and a great way to get out and socialise for a bit (please have a look at our time table)
